PREP_mc2 Instrument

Description

PREP mc2 is a preparative instrument that obtains the physical fractions of a polymer according to its molar mass or chemical composition (TREF or CRYSTAF). The sample is put into the vessels and the fractionation is performed automatically according to the selected method conditions in less than 24 hours.

The resulting fractions can be analyzed afterwards by techniques such as GPC, TREF, CRYSTAF, NMR, FTIR or DSC. Up to 16 fractions can be obtained from a single sample fractionation, and two different samples can be fractionated at the same time, in which case up to 8 fractions per sample can be collected per run.

Features
  • Fully-automated fractionation process.
  • Possibility of subambient operation (down to -20°C) for low crystallinity samples.
  • Flexible hardware and software to carry out different fractionation methods.
